Camping & Travel Pillows
SLEEP WELL, ANYWHERE
Low profile travel pillows
Travel pillows get a bad rap. Those big cumbersome things you see dangling off luggage as disheveled travelers dart through the airport? Not anymore. Travel pillows should be compact and easy to pack.
COCOON travel pillows are lightweight and low profile. AirCore and synthetic-filled travel pillows pack away into a minimalist stuff sack that fits snuggly in any carry-on.

Low Profile Camping Pillows Built for the Trail
A good camping pillow can mean the difference between waking up ready to hike and waking up with a crick in your neck from a wadded-up jacket. But bulk is the enemy of any backpacker, so a camping pillow has to earn its place in your pack.
COCOON camping pillows are lightweight and low profile. AirCore and synthetic-filled pillows pack away into a minimalist stuff sack that fits in any pack, hip belt pocket, or panel loader. The AirCore construction pairs an inflatable core with a soft outer layer, so you get the packability of an inflatable pillow without the crinkly, balloon-under-your-ear feel that ruins most of them.
What Makes the Best Camping Pillow
After thirty-plus years of building sleep gear, we've found it comes down to four things:
- Packed size. If it doesn't fit, it stays home. Ours compress to roughly the size of a fist.
- Adjustability. Add or release air to dial in loft; firm for side sleepers, low for back sleepers.
- Surface feel. Bare TPU against your cheek is a long night. A brushed or fleece face changes everything.
- Weight. Our lightest models land under three ounces. You won't notice it until you want it.
Choose Your Shape
Different trips, different pillows. Here's how the line breaks down:
- AirCore Ultralight: The everyday workhorse. Camping, hostels, red-eyes, back seats.
- AirCore U Shaped: An inflatable neck pillow that supports your head upright instead of letting it loll onto a stranger's shoulder. Deflates flat, packs to nothing.
- Ultralight AirCore Hood Camp Pillow: A hood pocket keeps the pillow from sliding off your sleeping pad at 2 a.m.
- Ultralight Lumbar AirCore Pillow: Lower-back support for long-haul flights, train rides, and rental cars with terrible seats.
- Down AirCore: A down top layer over the inflatable core for cold-weather comfort.
- Pack Pillow AirCore UL: Doubles as a stuff sack. Two jobs, one piece of gear.
Why Inflatable Beats Foam on the Trail
A foam pillow is comfortable at home and useless in a 30-liter pack. An inflatable travel pillow gives you the same loft at a fraction of the volume, and you control the firmness. Ours inflate in a few breaths, hold air overnight, and roll back down in seconds. No pump, no fuss, no compromise on comfort.
FAQs
Are inflatable pillows comfortable?
Ours are. The AirCore design keeps the air chamber away from your face with a soft fabric layer over the top.
How small does a camping pillow pack down?
Most COCOON models compress to about the size of your fist and weigh 2.5–4 oz.
Which pillow is best for flights?
The Ergo AirCore U Shaped for neck support, or the Lumbar AirCore if your back is the problem.
Can I wash it?
Yes. Deflate fully, hand wash cool, air dry completely before storing
