Insect Shield® technology, an EPA-approved and molecularly-bonded application of Permethrin, offers long-lasting protection against a variety of pests. Why COOLMAX® EcoMade?

COOLMAX® EcoMade technology provides the same reliable cooling performance you expect from the  COOLMAX® brand, but it's made with 100% recycled resources to help the environment. Eco-conscious consumers will also appreciate that this polyester fiber can be made with either 100% textile waste or recycled PET bottles.

  • Insect Shield® is a revolutionary technology which deters insects by using an EPA-approved, molecularly-bonded application of Permethrin. This long-lasting treatment [effective up to 70 washes], offers scientifically-proven protection against; mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, fleas, chiggers and midges [no-seeums] - many of which can carry dangerous diseases such as malaria or Lyme disease. Insect Shield® is colorless and odorless and is effective without needing to apply chemicals [such as DEET] directly onto the skin. Insect Shield® is available in several different products throughout the COCOON product line.

Machine wash (86°F/30°C). Tumble dry low. Do not bleach. Wash colors separately. May be dry cleaned.

Repairs and Warranty:
All COCOON gear is guaranteed against manufacturing or material defect. We do not warranty products damaged from normal wear and tear, alteration made by owner, misuse, accidents, or damages caused by uses other than intended. Damage due to misuse, normal wear and tear, or improper care may be repaired, at the discretion of COCOON, at a reasonable charge. Gear returned for repair must be clean and free of debris.

The EPA registration process evaluates a proposed product to make sure it will not have harmful effects on people or the environment. Insect Shield repellent is EPA approved for use by the whole family, with no restrictions.

Normal washing is recommended. Insect Shield repellent clothes can be washed without effect on the repellent quality.
